  Northern California World Trade Center Client Success Stories

 
E.C. Ryan International, located in Davis has been doing business with China since the late 1980s. In September 2000, Eric Ryan, president of E.C. Ryan joined our trade mission to China and is now consulting with WTC members routinely. Eric says "The World Trade Center in Sacramento provides more resources to local companies than any government trade agency I’ve worked with."

Building Material Distributors of Galt is projecting $100 million in sales this year. BMD manufactures insulated panels that can be used for low-income housing and sells building materials worldwide. Until 8 years ago, the company’s prime market was in California. By participating in various trade missions with the NCWTC, BMD is now exporting to several global markets. President Steve Ellinwood stated "the World Trade Center hooks you up with business people who have already done business in foreign markets."

Wolf Environmental Lining Systems of Sutter Creek participated in the Mexican Trade Mission in October 2000. Renate Voelcker stated at the end of the trip "the contacts we made during those nine days were worth more than $10,000.00."

Weather-Bos International of Grass Valley participated in the Egypt Trade Mission in November 1999. With help from the NCWTC staff, they signed a $7.3 Million US AID funded contract with an Egyptian client who was developed by the mission. Weather-Bos manufactures turn-key environmentally safe paints, stains and funnels. CEO Chuck Sins says, "The WTC is one of the best international trade organizations I have ever worked with anywhere in the world."

Protostar Computer Technology, a Sacramento based company specializing in computer hardware and service for industrial controls successfully exported to Santa Fe de Bogota, Columbia with the help of NCWTC. CFO Eric Pine says, "When there is an opportunity to trade high-tech equipment, we go after it." They are currently looking to expand into other world markets.

Pegasus Technologies, Inc., a Sacramento based technology manufacturer of stolen vehicle recovery systems, worked with the WTC since 1996. CEO Jason Cecchettini says, "The Northern California World Trade Center was helpful in extending our reach globally. Besides China, we are also now in Mexico and the Philippines. I recommend using the services of the Northern California World Trade Center."
