Globally Oriented

Sacramento is truly an international city. The Greater Sacramento Region as a whole has substantial international assets including a huge number of diasporic communities and foreign-born residents, thousands of international students and visitors annually, an agriculture industry that feeds the world, world-class education and medical institutions, and many multicultural organizations and events.

Globally Fluent

The Northern California World Trade Center developed the Global Sacramento ® initiative as a result of the California Capital Region Export Plan to celebrate the region’s diversity, highlight its international assets, and firmly establish the region’s global fluency and international identity. Global fluency, as defined by the Brookings Institution, is the level of competence, practice and reach a metro area exhibits in an increasingly interconnected world economy.

Global fluency in the Greater Sacramento Region will strengthen our businesses, our community, and our economy. The key for the Sacramento Region to attaining global fluency is the intentional highlighting and development of programs around these existing assets, an initiative in which the Northern California World Trade Center places great emphasis.
