Global Ties U.S. is recruiting U.S. citizens ages 18-29 to serve as Youth Ambassadors at the USA Pavilion. Youth Ambassadors serve as guides and cultural representatives of the United States and its territories to millions of Expo visitors.

What to Expect: Youth Ambassadors will welcome and interact daily with international visitors. They will act as representatives of the U.S. and assist in organizing and executing events at the USA Pavilion.

Who We Are Looking For: Young people who want to represent the U.S. and who are ideally multilingual in English and one of the following languages: Arabic, Mandarin, Farsi, Hindi, Russian, and Urdu. Additional language skills in Bengali, French, or Spanish may also be useful. Language abilities are an asset, but not required in order to apply to become a Youth Ambassador. All Youth Ambassadors will meet for a multi- day orientation in September 2021 in Washington, DC.

Youth Ambassadors will be divided into 3 cohorts*:

  • Full Term Cohort: September 16, 2021 – April 2, 2022
  •  Fall 2021 Cohort: September 16, 2021 – January 16, 2022
  •  Spring 2022 Cohort: January 8 – April 2, 2022

Cultural Performers

Global Ties U.S. is also recruiting Cultural Performers to perform at the USA Pavilion. Cultural Performers serve as representatives of the United States and its territories, and will provide entertainment to millions of Expo visitors. Performers will be selected across a variety of disciplines to reflect the rich diversity of the U.S. and its culture.

Performers are expected to be in Dubai for approximately 5 to 7 days and are required to participate in a minimum of 4 performances. International travel, lodging, and per diem will be provided for all performers at the U.S. Pavilion.

Expo 2020 Dubai

Expo 2020 Dubai is the first World’s Fair held in the Middle East.   Through   the 192 countries hosting pavilions, Expo 2020 Dubai will unveil the inventions, ideas, and inspirations that have the potential to change the future. Expo’s theme, “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,” is the belief that innovation and progress are the result of people and ideas coming together in new and unique ways.

The United Arab Emirates projects 70 percent of attendees with be international visitors, the highest proportion  in  Expo  history.  Expo  coincides with the UAE’s 50th anniversary in 2021. Over the past 50 years, the UAE has impressed the world with its rapid growth and amazing achievements. Expo 2020 Dubai wants to motivate people to carry that innovative spirit forward.
